In a recent interview, Trevor Noah shared an analogy of life with whitewater rafting. He said life is like a river; you don’t know where it’s going or how rough or smooth it will be, but he was happy to do it with the people in his boat, his longtime friends. So, who is in your boat? Who is in your small circle?
Over the last few weeks, I dealt with questions and challenging situations. I was happy to see the circle I hold close to be able to provide a safe space to vent and receive advice and encouragement to continue. My circle (my boat) includes people I can trust. They are not all the same, they come from different walks of life, and some don’t even know each other. It’s the complexity of my boat that allows me to navigate the different rivers of my life.
It’s the part of life that highlights the necessity for strong connections and great circles.
So who is in your boat?
