I took my son roller skating. He fell a few times and was amazed at how some kids were skating so well.
He asked me, “how are they so good?”. I said, “They practice. They would probably look at you on the soccer field and ask how you got so good.” He said, “like how you are at engineering.”
That last part put a smile on my face and my heart.
From that conversation, I was reminded of how people may look at someone in their role and think, “how are they so good.” Others start in a position and find it challenging and work alongside someone more seasoned that seems to be doing the role well or with ease.
