We find ease and convenience in writing emails or sending texts in both personal and business settings. This is acceptable for regular and common communication; however sometimes verbal communication is more effective.
Tone and inflection can be missed or misunderstood in written communication and can leave the reader with unintentional feelings or reactions.
Common business teaching says after two email exchanges, it may be best to pick up the phone. It’s true! Think how quickly a decision can be made if talked out rather than exchanging and waiting responses on emails. I understand aligning calendars can be a challenge, so email or text can be more ideal; however consider scheduling a video conference to discuss.

If you still question if your message should be verbal or written, read it back to yourself and determine if the tone can be implied or not.
If you are not sure, make it verbally.
