I celebrated my birthday and Mother’s Day this past weekend, creating reflective moments. I want to share three lessons that have motivated me or helped me grow over the last year.

It’s a sign that I need to reflect on where I am spending my energy…understanding that I need to rest, recharge, and refocus when necessary. I am not a superwoman. In the words of Andy Mineo, “I don’t do the most, but I do a lot.”

I have been excited about my birthday every year since I was a kid. I used to worry about being too old or looking my age, but lately, I have realized that each year provides more opportunities to grow in wisdom. Who doesn’t want to be wise?

I used to frustrate myself trying to convince people to see my point. Now, I realize that I don’t have to be correct, that I don’t have to argue for you to see my point, and that you are entitled to your opinion and thoughts. It is not my responsibility to persuade you otherwise. I will advise or comment, and you decide how to react. I will be at peace either way.
I see each year as an opportunity to embrace my birthday positively and reflect on growth. Let me know if any of the three lessons resonate with you.
