Moore Of You

This past weekend, I attended the Society of Women Engineers conference in Indianapolis. It is the largest conference for women in engineering and technology. There were women from all walks of life, from current college students, to educators, to corporate professionals. It was terrific to physically be in the same space with so many women achieving goals in STEM. Of course, we practiced COVID-19 protocols; however, I still felt connected. The conference’s theme was “Aspire to Inspire.”

I left inspired to continue Moore Of You, LLC and encourage women to pursue their careers in STEM. The energy in the room of my session, “Don’t Leave: How to Retain Minority Women Leaders in STEM,” was incredible. I was in my zone and will continue creating and delivering tools and services to see women bring “moore” of them to life.

It often happens when I go to conferences that I leave with a sense of determination and energy to achieve more. As a leader, I believe we have to stay in a position to learn AND lead. I utilize conferences and classes as an opportunity to not only teach, but be taught.  When is the last time you learned something new to bring you closer to achieving your goals?

I encourage you to seek out conferences or other learning opportunities that allow you to separate from the day-to-day and reassess your goals, learn something new and expand your perspective. If you need assistance, Moore of You, LLC is here to support. Reach out at info@mooreofyou.com.
