This is my favorite time of the year. I really get into the season. I love decorating, baking and gifting. Not just for what it stands for, but as someone who is organized, I enjoy new planners, clearing folders and preparing for a new year. It’s something about resetting and planning for the future.
I can’t properly do that until I close out the current year by completing performance reviews, acknowledging gaps from missed goals and development plans.
So how can you maximize the last two weeks of the year?
Really focus on closing out items. If you are honest with yourself, determine what can actually be done and if it can’t be done…LEAVE IT! The work will be there when you get back. Don’t fester over unfinished work.
Detach from work and cherish the moments. Center yourself on the real reason for the season.
We can burn ourselves out with festering and if we are fortunate to have time off, take advantage of it by really “taking off”.
I also pause to say THANK YOU to all those who support Moore of You, LLC by reading and commenting on my Monday Minutes. I started them as a way to provide a quick motivation that can be read within a few minutes. I soon realized that even those that don’t comment, still read and anticipate them on Mondays, so THANK YOU!
