When was the last time you went to your college or high school homecoming? With the pandemic and other obligations, it’s been over four years since I have been to a North Carolina State University homecoming, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
I went to Raleigh to attend the North Carolina State University Engineering Foundation Board meetings and events. I also went as an alum for homecoming.
I spent time with sorority sisters, fraternity brothers, classmates, mentors, and teachers.
I left emotionally full and physically drained, but I would do it all over again!
Here are 3 reasons I recommend going to your college (or high school) homecoming
RECONNECT
I talked to classmates whom I had not seen in years. We were able to reconnect, share how our lives have evolved since graduating, and collaborate on how we can help each other in the upcoming chapters or phases of our lives.
REMINISCE
It was good to share stories from our years at State and see how much development and growth has happened on the campus and with the faculty and staff.
RECHARGE
I left with renewed energy to see NCState continue to evolve and excited to be a part of it. I met some of the current students and recent college graduates who exposed me to new opportunities to support those starting to enter the workforce.
If you haven’t returned to your alma mater in a while, especially at homecoming, I hope these three reasons motivate you to make it happen very soon.
