Moore Of You

This weekend, I enjoyed watching the 52nd Annual NAACP (National Association of the Advancement of Colored People) Image Awards. The ceremony awarded many for their contributions to society including sports, acting and community outreach. This year, was the first of the Social Justice Impact Award and the recipient was Stacey Abrams.
How fitting as we come to the close of this year’s Women’s History Month, that Moore Of You, LLC spotlights Stacey Abrams.
She is an activist, entrepreneur, lawyer, political leader and New York Times bestselling author. She served 11 years in the Georgia House of Representatives and 7 as Minority Leader.
She lost her race as Georgia’s mayor, but that didn’t stop her from continuing to pursue equal rights for all.
Over her career, Abrams has founded organizations devoted to voting rights, training and hiring young people of color, and tackling social issues at the state and national levels.
What an example of making a change to positively impact others and not letting one setback cause you to quit. Stacey Abrams is staying in the game. It’s people like her that inspires me. What or who inspires you?
How do you not allow 1 defeat to change the course you know you are set to make?
