Moore Of You

It’s that time of year where we have a concentrated focus on giving thanks. Too often we put our heads down and focus on ourselves. These past 20 months have definitely shown us the importance of not taking time for granted and cherishing moments.
According to AAA, more than 53.4 million people are expected to travel, the highest single-year increase since 2005. Air travel is up 80% from last year.
When I heard those numbers I reflected on our shelter-in-place this same time last year. People making the tough decision to not spend the holidays with family outside of their home.
If I think too long or too hard, I can feel that same emotion of loneliness and separation. But I decide to focus on the positives…we are making it through an unprecedented time.
We can shift our mood based on what we focus our minds on. We can be truly happy or filled with anxiety by what we decide to watch, read and hear.
I make a conscience effort to balance what I allow my eyes and ears to take in…I want to lead with a thankful mind.
What are you thankful for? Think beyond the big goals and on to the simple abilities and small wins. For example, when I haven’t seen someone in awhile and I finally see them in person, they say “it’s good to see you!” I think to myself “it feels good to be seen”.
Feel free to put in the comments what you are thankful for this year.
