Moore Of You

As we narrow in on the last few weeks of 2022, some may feel anxious while others may feel nervous. I want to remind you to give yourself time to learn and adapt to new habits. Perhaps you set out at the beginning of the year to do some amazing things and feel that those goals will not come to fruition.
Don’t give up!
December 31st does not mean everything stops. You have more days in 2023 to continue learning or accomplishing those goals. We stress over December 31st, but realistically we should plan to achieve smaller goals over the year rather than one big goal by the end. If you don’t accomplish that goal by the end of the year, ask yourself if it was realistic, and if so, how can you course correct to meet it in 2023. Don’t just give up. You were built for this!
If we compare ourselves to ships, there are some similarities we can glean to encourage us for the balance of 2022. According to marineinsight.com, “When ships sail on the open ocean, they are subjected to a large number of forces in all directions. Be it wave loads, structural stresses, wind forces or even turning forces, these vessels must be built to withstand all such loads and stresses.”
If we are that ship, we are built for the curveballs life throws to try to knock us off course. We will receive forces from all directions, but we must keep the positive forces and eliminate or address the negative ones.
Thanksgiving is coming in the US, and many offices are closed, take some time to reflect and be thankful for your accomplishments (big or small), level set, and plan the course for the last five weeks of the year.
Remember, keep your head up, and you are built for this.
