MONDAY MINUTE: 2 Methods to be Productive
Last week, we talked about utilizing productivity tools to effectively check things off our to-do list before we close out the year.
This Monday Minute is going to highlight two of those methods in more detail.
Time Blocking and Eat the Frog
Time blocking according to BetterUp is described as “a planning method that divides your day into smaller blocks of time. During each block of time, you focus on a single task or a group of similar tasks. The process is simple. Unlike a to-do list, time blocking not only tells you what to do but when to do it.”
This is the technique I use. I need to be more consistent, but when I use it, I definitely see a difference in my output. Because my calendar can be booked pretty quickly with meetings, I personally block time to get things done. The Pomodoro Technique is using the time block method with scheduling like tasks at 25 minute intervals. The key is removing distractions like silencing your phone to really make the time effective.
The second method is Eat The Frog. It’s basically do the biggest task first in the morning and don’t allow yourself to put it off.
