If we don’t take some time to rest and refocus, we can find ourselves easily agitated, irritable, confused and even depressed. Perhaps you feel overwhelmed from the hustle of your day-to-day responsibilities.
Too often, women of color feel the necessity to always be strong. That’s actually a stereotype that can be harmful to our well-being.
People ask me, “Tiffany, how do you do it all? Work full-time, consult, be a wife and a mother?” Some of it can be attributed to intentionally giving myself grace and recognizing the times I need to take a break. The break can be small with a walk outside or longer where I temporarily remove myself from the day-to-day grind.
I recently had the pleasure of taking a weekend with a close friend to disconnect from my responsibilities and rest at a resort. I simply cared for myself. My mind and my body. I recharged my batteries.
