Moore Of You

I’m reading Stacey Abrams latest book, “Lead from the Outside”. As I curled up on my couch with the sunlight coming in, I was prepared to take in what I was going to read. I was only three pages in and had to grab a highlighter! In the Preface to the Paperback Edition, I had to highlight “I will never fail to try”.
That sentence resonates with me. It encourages me.
I will be honest. Some of my “try” comes from calculated risks. I weigh the pros and cons before making a decision, but I know that sometimes I don’t know all of the outcomes and that’s okay. I will never fail to try.
Even when meeting people or starting new teams, I take an optimistic approach engaging with all members. I will try each time to make the team work and make my contribution count.
I may fail at things, but trying will not be one of them.
Throughout the course of our lives we have moments where it didn’t turn out like we expected, but how would we know if we never tried? Don’t cut yourself short on opportunities.
