Moore Of You

Not all aspects of Black History are negative or sad. Carter G. Woodson established Negro History Week (later to become a month-long celebration) with the objective of drawing attention to the contributions and accomplishments of African Americans to American history.

Given this year’s Black History Month theme, “African Americans and the Arts,” I would like to highlight three accomplished female actresses whom I admire. I appreciate their backgrounds, resilience in overcoming adversity, and passion for acting. I have enjoyed reading their books, whether memoirs or autobiographies.

I would like to recommend and highlight these actresses this week:
1. Viola Davis
2. Kerry Washington
3. Cecily Tyson

Each book will explain why I admire these actresses. Their determination and perseverance will inspire you.
Please take a look at these books and let me know what you think.

NOTE: I preferred Viola Davis’s book in audio because she reads it and uses inflections, accents, and tone to bring the book to life.
