Last week, I shared how we need to prepare for the last quarter of the year and I heard your feedback…”It’s too soon”, “I’m not ready!” and “I’m super anxious about the last part of the year”.
I want to reassure you with 3 tips to ease the anxiety of closing out the year.
Reflect on your accomplishments
We have been in a pandemic! It has caused us to move and operate in a different way. Make a list of the things you have accomplished despite the year we have had. It can be as small as decluttering a drawer, an accomplishment is an accomplishment and it counts!
Create an action list with smaller steps to reach a larger goal
Don’t look at large goals in their entirety. Instead, break them down into smaller manageable action items over the course of time to reach the big goal. Concentrate by blocking out time including muting your phone and any other distractions to get those actions completed.
Extend grace to yourself
Don’t be so hard on yourself! Recognize your growth (go back to point #1). Reflect on the goals and assess if they were too aggressive. Determine the relevance of the goals and adjust for the rest of the year. Remember it’s the end of the year and not the end of the world…give yourself grace.
